Service Description

THE ART OF CONVERSATION– round two – a condensed version. Sign up for one session or the entire series! $25 per session - most materials are provided. This class is a conversation about specific historical periods in art & a cursory introduction to a few artists who practiced the specific style. The world has been influenced by art & artists from the beginning of time. From setting trends to reactionary politics. Thinking about & discussing art makes us more aware of society as a whole. Because of the vastness of possibility, & considering information applicability and interest, I will focus, for now, on periods of time in recent years so that we may all feel a real connection to it. Session Three (Wed., March 5, 5:30-7:30pm or until the conversation is complete) Because the 1970’s turned out to be so rich in diverse thought & artistic practice, it pays us to continue the conversation of the late 70’s with artists like Alice Aycock, the later work of Philip Guston, & lesser-recognized painters like Jorg Immendorff, all of whom created groundbreaking lifetimes of creative thought through their objects. Come discuss, make a little something that mimics the topic’s ideology and stretch your brains as well as let your creative juices flow.
