About

A variety of fine art from a variety of fine women!  This exhibition runs the gamut from fine painting, to wonderful glass work, and then to that elusive-to-define mixed media art.  Come see what a handful of regional women artists have been up to.

You will be amazed.

Teri is a visual artist, a founding member of the International Arts Residency at the Paducah Arts Alliance, former Executive Director of the Yeiser Art Center, and current Executive Director of The Creative at Klondike.

Teri has spent the last three years as a champion for other artist’s work through the lens of the Creative at Klondike.

But for the last nine months she's taken a step back in her own art-making direction in order to develop this body of work. It contains drawings, ceramic work, mixed media sculptures, fibers, and pin-hole photographs.

While there are many pieces involved, she considers it one work. She calls it collectively “63 years ‘Under Big Skies’- this girl’s life”.

She’ll offer no explanations except maybe this, think of it as a story with a beginning, middle and end. Read it as you feel it reads.

Where can you see the wonderful paintings of the multi-talented Lisa Frick? Her landscapes carry the easy immediacy of her surroundings yet her still-life works depict such detail its dizzying (in a great way!). We are fortunate to feature Lisa’s work in our upcoming exhibition, “Five Women one Show”.

Lisa lives in Marthasville and gives much of her time to the enrichment of creative community projects including The Creative at Klondike where she currently has work hanging and for sale in our gallery gift shop. Lisa often volunteers at events and open weekends so you may have already seen her there.

Linda Sutterer from Marthasville is a part of the gathering of women artists in an upcoming exhibition at The Creative at Klondike. Her work is thoughtful, delightfully interactive with the sunlight, and masterfully crafted.

Beverly Ann Wells will be displaying original oil paintings, framed giclée prints and assemblages. Beverly Ann paints in a style of realism using many layers and soft-focus edges that give her work an atmospheric quality, producing a distinctly emotional esthetic tone, mood and character.

“My approach to painting is to try and capture the honesty of a subject, to convey the absolute harmony and rhythm of that which stirs the senses.”

Beverly Ann is a consummate professional artist. Her paintings leave you spellbound by the tenderness with which she handles her subjects, and her highly-skilled approach at rendition. Her work alone is worth the drive to Klondike.

Kaeko Maehata joins us as one of the impressive women artists onboard.

Kae’s work commands a presence in its inhabited space, with a subtle feminine strength you have to experience in person. This lady is remarkable. She says that she isn’t good at talking…. but realizes that her beautiful and meticulously crafted glasswork can SING to our hearts. And Sing it does. Her pieces are diminutive in size, which only emphasizes the power of overall shape and intricate glasswork design. These pieces need to be seen.

Lucky enough to have some of her work in your collection already? Experiencing these pieces will tempt you to add more!
