About
This course provides an introduction to Pochoir, a stencil process that allows artists to create multiple images with simple tools. The class will include a history of stencilling as an art form, examples of how artists have adapted the principles for their own creative ends, and a review of recent advancements in materials.
Students will learn how to:
* find historical examples of the process
* lay out and draw simple stencil designs
* experiment with several painting media
* produce a set of original prints that can be used as note or greeting cards
