Service Description

Have you always wanted to learn to weave, but don't have the room or the budget for a big loom? Did someone give you a wooden contraption that looks a little like a kitchen chair and you have no idea how it works, much less how to use it? Let me help you get started with your inkle loom so you can start making straps, belts, leashes, bookmarks, and trim with this simple loom, using basic tools and supplies from any craft store. Supplies to bring: Inkle (or Inklette) Loom, if you have one. I will have a few Inklette looms available to rent for the day for a $10 rental fee (there may be an option to buy your rented loom, if you wish). Please let me know in advance if you will need one. All other materials will be supplied. Should you wish to buy a loom ahead of time, recommended brands are Schacht and Ashford, available on Amazon and Etsy (& other online stores like The Spinnery Store and The Woolery). You can find a full-sized Inkle loom for around $120. You can also get smaller Ashford "inklette" looms for around $70. This is a long class, but we'll be taking breaks for discussion, refreshments, and, weather permitting, a walk on the trails.
