Service Description

Wet-felting is a textile art form that involves using water, soap and agitation to compact and interlock wool fibers into fabric. In this class we will wet-felt a pair of mittens to fit your hands, using wool that I will provide for you. I'll also show you how to decorate the wool by adding silk fiber or yarn. Materials will be provided, but please bring along 1-2 old bath towels for soaking up excess water (occasionally the colors in the dyed wool will run, so nothing that cannot be stained - the color will be set in the completed mittens).
