Barn Quilt Design and Painting

Have you ever noticed colorful decorations on barns while driving through the countryside and wondered about them?
Want to learn more about them?
Think you'd like to learn how to create one yourself?

Then our Barn Quilt classes are for you! We had so much fun the first time we offered this class in February 2026, that we decided to offer it again.  This time the class will be offered in two parts, and you have the option to sign up for one or both of the two classes:

  1. The first class will take place on Saturday, July 18th, 2026 and will focus on "Barn Quilt Design". For more information about this class, see below.

  2. The second class "Barn Quilt Painting" will take place the following Saturday, July 25th, and will focus on painting your canvas. For more information about this class, see below.
** PLEASE NOTE: **
You will need to register
separately for each of the classes you choose.  If you are interested in both Barn Quilt Design & Barn Quilt Painting, please make sure you register for BOTH classes (by June 22nd), and choose the "With..." option in each class to get a discounted rate.

Barn Quilt Design Class

This class is for those who have a design in mind and are interested in learning how to lay out that design on a canvas.  Or, for those of you interested in the process, but still undecided on your design, start looking around now for design ideas.
The web and Pinterest are loaded with possibilities! Or you may even see a design you'd like to try while driving around. Grab the best photo or screenshot you can.

You MUST register by June 22nd and submit your design idea(s) and which of the two different sizes of quilt (1x1 foot or 2x2 foot) that you'd like to create, and instructor Pat Moore will evaluate your idea to determine its complexity. If she believes it is too difficult for a first design, then she may suggest you choose a simpler design for this class.

Then Pat will guide us in best practice for designing and laying out our quilts on boards she has primed and prepped. All supplies will be provided. The class has 3.5 hours allotted, but will probably not take that long.

** Be sure to include an image of your design idea before clicking "Book Now" **

Barn Quilt Painting Class

For those interested ONLY in learning to Paint a barn quilt, please sign up for the second class in this series "Barn Quilt Painting". If you sign up for Painting only, you will be painting a canvas designed & laid out by instructor, Pat Moore. At registration, you will need to choose from one of 3 designs (see below) which Pat will have pre-drawn on your prepared board.

If you choose to register for both classes, you will be painting the canvas you designed & laid out in the first class.

This class also has 3.5 hours allotted, to allow for drying between coats and colors. All supplies will be provided.

**Be sure to indicate your design choice.**
