"All About Owls"
Street painting is a performance art that began during the renaissance. It is a way to bring art to the public. Craig Thomas has been creating street paintings for 21 years in Europe, Canada, and throughout the United States.
Craig created an incredible work of art specifically designed for the Creative to tie in with the owls visiting through the World Bird Sanctuary. Craig was there most of the day, so folks could stop by to see what he was doing, then go for a hike, perhaps up to the Overlook (see below), and watch "All About Owls" then check back on his progress!
The installation should be available to see through the summer in the circle driveway adjacent to the front steps of The Creative. Stop by and see for yourself! And if you stand at the right spot, you can even capture a photo of the owl perched on your arm!
This 45 minute program "All About Owls", which began at 1:00pm, explained the natural history of owls and talked about owls as raptors. We were enraptured by the Barred, Barn, and Screech Owls who came to visit.

A ranger from St. Charles County Parks was also manning a spotting scope up on the Overlook from 11:30-2pm, so everyone could get an up-close look at our local birds & other wildlife!
But wait! There's more!
